How to repair Cabasse Pearl Akoya remote control

The Cabasse Pearls come with a spectacular remote control. It’s weighty and gives the impression of being very well-made. It has a dial for adjusting the volume that operates very smoothly, allowing for very small volume increments for precise adjustments.

Here are the good news; the bad news is that it connects via Bluetooth and is usually disconnected. So, when you want to use it, you have to press a button or move the wheel and wait for it to connect, and there’s a delay that is very inconvenient.

I searched all over the internet to see if someone had taken it apart, but I didn’t find anything, so I’m explaining it here in case someone needs it.

This is how the remote looks from the bottom; it has a rubber part that can be carefully detached with a small screwdriver.

Once you’ve removed the rubber, you can see four holes, and here’s the key: in each hole, there’s a black screw, which can be a bit challenging to see. Once you remove these screws, the remote control opens up.

The left side of the image is the bottom part of the remote, and the right side is the top. The bottom has a solid piece of metal that serves no purpose other than adding weight and providing a sense of solidity.

The arrow indicates where the tab is soldered; you can see two clean holes where the soldering should have been. The piece was poorly soldered, which caused it to fall off. In the next photo, you can see the fallen tab. It only took soldering it back, and the remote now works perfectly.
